In the way we speak here, it is an invitation: come, let’s sit together. And when everyone arrives, “Jirga Lag Gya.” The gathering has begun.
Raja Umer Imdad and Ammar Danish founded Jirga in their hometown of Muzaffarabad. Both engineers with Master’s degrees in Project Management, they shared a vision for a riverside restaurant where the setting mattered as much as the meal.
That local way of coming together gave Jirga its name — and still gives it its purpose.

Why is the restaurant called Jirga?
The name comes from a local invitation to gather: “Ao Jirga Lagain.” Sitting together and sharing time is the idea at the heart of Jirga.
Who founded Jirga?
Jirga was founded by Raja Umer Imdad and Ammar Danish, two engineers and Master’s degree holders in Project Management from Muzaffarabad.
